I'm trying to figure out if it's cowardice and fear and capitulation or anger at The College Students and Their TikToks™ gone amok. Probably case by case.

College students and TikTok’s were millennials and their “whatever’s” 10 years ago. 20yrs ago it was “slackers” in Gen X. Olds always harp on whatever the youths are doing at the moment.

Anyway, in either case, they're giving off "shut up and go away, old man" which is not sustainable political energy, thank god.

So for their strata they saw how the whole “never trump” movement has basically died and isn’t profitable so they’re just setting themselves up to keep their social status without having to pledge fealty, I feel.

A theory of mine is that anti-youth sentiment began as racism.

honestly I think all this was fairly predictable even as early as when Biden was first sworn in

All of that, but I also think there's the pleasure of not having to pretend to have higher principles, and just nakedly suck up to power and grind your axes against people you don't like. Big part of Trump's appeal.

I mean it’s the TikTok class that’s talking itself into voting for Trump over Biden

It's the first, but they're self-aware enough to recognize the moral bankruptcy there, so they rationalized with the second. It's the first, but they're self-aware enough to recognize the moral bankruptcy there, so they rationalized with the second.
