A brief RIP to the good era of The Daily Beast, the best newsroom I've ever worked in. We beat everybody and made the big papers very mad about it. We also did it with a lot of empathy and care and without the soullessness of a Murdochian tabloid. I guess that's over. Anyway, it was a good website.

There's selling out then there is *selling out* holy heck balls. This buyout is a white flag, the vile people saying, free speech, if only you can afford to ignore our buy out offer. How did this seem at all ok in any way?
