This is spot on. Future presidents will probably keep kicking the can down the road, letting futile wars drag on indefinitely.
I think there's a critique of the anti-war left to be had, but also come the fuck on. That self-same left was AGAINST the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to begin with.
