The fundamental reality of American politics is that only the Democratic Party is a (small-d) democratic party. Pretending otherwise depends entirely on ignoring what Republicans have been doing with power wherever they are in charge - and openly vow to do with power in the future.
All we really know is that the race is polling a lot closer than we would like for it to be, and if you’re anxious or mad about that you’re better served personally and politically by volunteering for the campaign than you are picking through data on a Saturday morning.
