People without a shred of imagination - let alone any concept of second order effects - are prone to believe (read: "blindly accept") that Trump's simplistic prescription here is "just common sense", when it's actually a bass-ackwards recipe for escalating both property crime and criminal violence.
Still pulling punches. This reporter did better than many colleagues in calling out Trump's lies. But the crux of what happened is that Trump called for state-sanctioned street violence by cops. One quote from a historian about who else made similar calls and when would have been great.
