Dr Ruth Oshikanlu @RuthOshikanlu I have had to turn the radio off as I can't listen to @mrjamesob discussing #CovidInquiryUK I'd have liked to call in, but can't afford to get retraumatised. I went back to support the NHS as an Agency health visitor in March 2020. Upon returning to work, everyone around me was coughing and no PPE was provided. We were visiting children and families with no face covering. We were also very thin on the ground as colleagues with ICU experience were redeployed to support the hospitals. No surprises, within a couple weeks, I got COVID and was very unwell. I infected my son too. As soon as I got ill, my contract was terminated. Many colleagues I know who were working in the community died from COVID, some alone on their beds at home. My worst fear was going to sleep at night, terrified that my son will find me dead in bed. I sympathise, although I wasn’t harmed financially. Got #Covid#longCovid had affected me. Had a refresh on CPR and I was useless. Resigned. Now OK, I really hope we support those affected fairly.
