You know how your brain has default settings that you revert to when you are tired, sick, or decision-fatigued? I wish mine were more "yes, sure, that'll probably work" and less "here's all the critical things that come to mind." Thanks, Brain.

Look, I like the universities I've worked for. Generally, I think positively but realistically about them. That said, every Giving Tuesday, when my *employer* asks me to give, I feel quite grumbly & rumbly. 😡 How about you give me back the $$$ I pay to park at my job and I'll consider "giving back"?

I left my last #POD23 session (Emily Weiss’s roundtable on growing from ED failures and inexperience) with a list of specific ways I changed and grew in the last 3 years. It feels good to see that list and I hope to keep up that reflective practices. Whew.

Reflecting on why “just come talk to me! I’ll connect you to the community” comments rub me wrong. Is it that I don’t believe folks mean it? Is it that I haven’t recovered from my disciplinary conference experiences? Is it the onus placed on the less connected to put themselves out there? #POD23
