Because it feels good to share professional successes...last month, the Journal on Centers for Teaching & Learning published our article on the value of diverse types of teaching programming for faculty. Delighted to keep working with folks at Wake Forest! openjournal.lib.miamioh.edu/index.php/jc...

Thanks, Adnan! These are the kinds of thoughts I was hoping for!

Hi polisky, would you mind sharing a sentence or two about how you think about the teaching parts of your faculty role? Context: I'm giving a talk to new PS PhD students on the role of teaching in a faculty career. I wanted to find something in JPSE or PS on the topic, but no luck so far. TIA!

There was an interesting study done at Dartmouth that showed that the test optional policy actually hurt students from underrepresented identities.

Weird, kinda neurotic professional pet peeve: when folks doing surveys at a university promise students/faculty/staff "anonymity" when they mean confidentiality. Come on, B. It's not like we're asking faculty/students about deviant or illegal behaviors. Let it go. (I can't!) (You can!) (I won't!)

Feeling vulnerable and anxious about the class you are teaching? Sounds like a great time to peruse old evals. 🙇‍♀️

Interviews have commenced on our POD-supported research project investigating the role and future of workshops in CTLs' work!

My first class takes place 12 days after the start of the term in a classroom designed to seat 10 times the number of students enrolled. I'm not feeling my best.
