Over a thousand full virus genome sequences from this outbreak, collected from mammalian and avian host specimens in at least 13 States, have thus far been made available in GISAID EpiFlu.

Since the previous update on 2 August 2024, four new specimens collected in three U.S. States (Minnesota, Texas and South Dakota), between 2024-04-08 and 2024-05-28, have been submitted by the USDA. The latest trees, based on representative subsamples, are dated to 5 August 2024.
