Nice..
CR Herring Gull at Cogden this am. Instant & surprising response from the project..."Many thanks for the sighting. Red XSC was ringed as a chick on the Suffolk coast in June. Really pleased with this sighting because it is the first time that one of our Herring Gulls has been seen in Dorset"
Thanks, that would be good... no harm in asking.
Thanks, I reported it through EURING. The response I had said the scheme contact is P.P. Box 50, 6700 AB Wageningen, the Netherlands vogeltrekstation@nioo.knaw.nl. I was going to leave it a couple of months and then follow up. Cheers...
Still nothing...
Dutch... I refer you to my post of Aug 2. Good to know it's hanging around...👍
Thanks Chris, impressive reserve. I don't spent much time birding away from West Bex/Cogden these days, today was a little unusual. But if I plan a visit I'll be in touch.
I had to drop my wife in Dorchester for a few hours, so decided to visit Silverlake.... what a fantastic site. The first birds I saw were a small flock of Woodlarks. We get the odd flyovers at West Bex but we've not had a grounded bird for many years now... a real treat.
When we're managing scrub here during the winter we always try to leave log piles. Principally for the invertebrates, but also in the hope that this might happen. Not the first time a migrant Nightjar has dropped in for the day...
