One of the most remarkable photos ever taken. And it is impossible to comprehend the scale of it. Taken by Hubble, it is a jet of gas being fired out of a supermassive black hole. The jet is 3,000 light years long (1 light year = 6 trillion miles!). Full amazing story👉 mashable.com/article/blac...
After testing my new mount on M13, haven't had a chance to use it since....here's one of my better astrophotos with the old mount. :) This is the Heart of the Heart nebula, Melotte 15, a fantastic sculpture of gas, dust and starlight. HHOO via Ha [OIII] dual band filter, processed in PixInsight 🧪🔭
Fantastic image, James 👏
Possibly my best #Saturn image to date due to the amazing seeing on the 16th. 4 moons are visible on the original image. Faint Mimas is just visible below the rings on the right of the disk. Following opposition, Saturn's shadow is starting to appear to the left. Some ring structure also visible 🔭🧪
Outstanding shot 👏
If you see this, post a butterfly to celebrate 10 million users on Bluesky. 😊
Awesome collection 🤩
A problem should go away after saying Fuck three times.
The Wizard Nebula aka NGC7380 aka Sh2-142 is a Galactic star forming region in the constellation Cepheus and some 10 000 light years away. See www.astrobin.com/rr49nu#astrophotography 🔭📷
