One of the advantages of plastic is the fact that is does not rot. If bacteria are evolving the ability to feed off plastic, then that advantage disappears. How long before we start to see the vinyl siding on homes rotting away?
Looking at the topographic map, I'd say that large parts of the area south of Tallahassee, including the airport, will be put underwater by the expected 20+ foot storm surge. Most of the rest will be at risk of flooding from all the rain the storm is bringing.

Israel has been killing Palestinian civilians and forcing them off their land since 1967. It's no surprise that some Palestinians want to hit back. Hamas missiles have killed about 1500 Israelis. In retaliation, Israel has killed 42000 Palestinians, or almost 30 Palestinians for each Israeli.
Are they only required to study the impact, or will they also be required to do something about it?
I didn't say it wasn't. The fact that Israel is responding to a terrorist attack does not justify committing another terrorist attack, or a war crime.
The people who are cheering are the ones who think any amount of collateral damage is acceptable as long as 'those' people are the ones paying the price. Personally, I'm having trouble deciding if this was an act of terrorism or a war crime.
Are they concerned with it, or just hoping to get some of it?
