Oh, that reminds me, I once had to stay at work when there was enough water in the streets around my library that I saw a city bus creating a bow wave and a wake.

I was once forced to go in and open the library in one of those severe ice storms that weighs the trees down with so much ice they break and the roads are completely impassible. I lived near enough to sort of walk, but I fell so many times trying to get from my house to campus.
