one of my favorite things is the random bowie anecdotes that pop up in youtube comment sections occasionally

Weirdly, in 1973, the Edgar Winter Group featured a Britpop time traveller.

Someone playing guitar in the Edgar Winter Group, but with an out-of-time Britpop haircut.

I clicked on it and it came up with a link which went to the page above.

I hope this means the costume has prominent steel nipples.

The point where The Platters, Roger Corman, American International Pictures, and Eric Dolphy converge? Here. It’s right here.

#CDFriday Love this and am keen to check out the new demos album. But more than an any other artist, pleasure is tempered by the loss of what might’ve been.

Among the great joys of Kenneth Williams diaries is reading about his friendship with Maggie Smith. It’s always apparent how much he adores her. From 1973: “I told Maggie how incredibly her talent had matured…”

Wednesday 31 January
Maggie came round and we went to Peter Mario. At the meal when I told Maggie how incredibly her talent had matured in Love, Pain (film) she said ‘I learned all that from you… it was you who taught me about the end thought being present from the beginning, that the breath must be taken right and the inflection rise at the end for the colloctor not fall’ I thought ‘How receptive and willing you have been!’ She is the most striking example of a serious artist with an infinite capacity for taking pains… and one totally without pretension.

Tuesday 6 February
Maggie came round! We had dinner at Peter Mario. Came back to the flat for coffee and talked till 4 o’c!! It was foolish but this girl draws me like a magnet, and I am inextricably involved with her. It is a know I will never want, or be able, to untie.

This is what I mean when I say Hollywood is in its flop era It's not because people in creative roles have lost their mojo. It's because studios have decided that relying exclusively on IP is a business plan Ciara Moloney writes more about that here

How Capitalism Incentivizes the Destruction of Art
How Capitalism Incentivizes the Destruction of Art

Capitalism is supposed to encourage innovation. But in Hollywood, studios are creating a narrower range of films to avoid taking any risk at all.
