I don’t know if they’d be as motivated without him. Some would try to fill the void he would leave but somehow I think they’d eat one another alive in panic.

This isn’t to say the threat of fascism will be neutralized. Just that it’ll be chaos and in-fighting among the powerful, with competing goons positioning themselves to take the mantle while the base panics not knowing who their leader is.
