and no, i do not think small presses will cure publishing of capitalism, but i do think they would be helpful for the scene in terms of connections and visibility and creating opportunities.
i kind of think there's a difference between a small press and a large independent publisher, but it's not worth quibbling over. more to the point, there's way, way magnitude more lit small presses than specfic, which i think represents a real gap.

for me it's like, every single choice they make is weird and interesting, and not all the choices are necessarily "good" but they're always compelling (and hype).

speaking of fuck transformers, i think a lot of annoying movie things people associate with marvel are actually transformers things. "that happened" is very transformers.
i continued then and continue now to enjoy a lot of art which might be called "nerdy," but i will not be a part of a culture which thinks transformers is an acceptable movie
