Somewhat like a wonderful disaster? My home office is the main storage point, since it has the only bookcase big enough for them, but if you wonder around my house, you'll just find them anywhere 😂 - two examples shared.
They take up a wall of shelves in my finished basement (along with several shelves of painted miniatures and terrain), there's also usually a game set up on a Game Topper in the dining room.
It used to be in the living room, the first thing you would see when entering my house. Now it’s all in my home office due to its size.
Everywhere and anywhere. Even at my other properties. Crazy. As a matter of course we just removed a bunch of books we no longer needed in our living room and replaced with mid weight euros. 😄
Vast majority is in our dining room.
Before buying a house with a dedicated game room (called the Lodge), it was all out on display in the living room of our apartment. Now it's all out on display in the Lodge.
A few years ago I decided to display my collection as the thing of beauty that it is. Many of these games are too pretty to shut away, so it is now the defining feature of my living space. My kallax is displayed prominently, with lights to feature either my favorites or the most pretty.
Sort of in-between. Games aren’t on bookshelves in the living room like our, well, books. They’re visible on shelves in the garage, like a wine cellar. :) (Wargames are in other closets to save shelfspace—I don’t need others to choose those for that mostly solitaire hobby.)
Frequently played games are in the living room. Less frequently played games in an upstairs closet. Never played games in the attic.
About a third to a half are discretely displayed on open shelves in the basement, intermixed among other things to avoid the "wall of cardboard" effect. The rest are behind cabinet doors or in a utility room.
