How about “had to learn cursive (or, as it was called at the time, ‘handwriting’) using a fountain pen”? No ballpoint pens before grade 7. Typing class was optional. High school grad was 1974.

That’s about right. First I heard of it was from a friend from Montreal who said the term was used there to describe a pizza with absolutely EVERYTHING on it. So, All-dressed = loaded = every possible seasoning.

That outlook is not just “glass-half-full”. That’s “glass-full-to-overflowing”.
