"Banning LLMs is classist" is something that has been pushed on us in education for months at this point, this is absolutely a coordinated PR campaign and not NaNoWriMo being a sole bad actor. It's also a giveaway that none of those people ever cared about classism before.

It's just especially stupid in the context of NaNoWriMo, where the whole point is you have to push yourself to write throughout the month to reach the word target. Having a plagiarism engine do it all for you makes the whole thing utterly pointless.

It is often put in positive terms, like how "AI" will help make college more accessible. This is absolutely a thing and it is now reaching the general public (I guess teachers weren't as receptive as desired)

The "class" of people who actually do the damn writing opressing the "class" of people who have nothing to say but won't stop shouting.
