There were so many flatback millipedes out after dark this evening (like, hard to avoid stepping on them) and I'm slowly getting better at shooting fluorescent creatures 🖤🩵 🌿🧪

Millipede glowing greenish blue under UV, coiled up partially, head in the middle
A leggy glowing millipede, fully coiled up
Brightly glowing millipede seen from above, on the move
Millipede with softly glowing legs, straightened and on the move in the dark

For #fungifriday, tiny antlers in the woods! Candlesnuff fungus, Xylaria hypoxylon is looking glorious at work and living up to its alternative name of Stag’s-horn fungus 🦌 Reputably, weakly bioluminescent but it’s just a bit too spooky here at night to find out! 😯 🍄📸

Just thinking about crabs who hang out with echinoderms 🦀🦑🧪 1. unidentified Lithodidae riding a sea pig 2. Lissocarcinus orbicularis up a sea cucumber hole 3. Dorippe frascone with fire urchin hat 4. Allogalathea elegans on a crinoid

Still from a gif of a smol pink colored spiny king crab on the belly of a squishy sea cucumber. The cuke is a "sea pig" meaning it has squishy little legs along the sides of its body. The cuke is in the water column so the crab is literally riding it.

A pretty rounded crab, Lissocarcinus orbicularis, with a whiteish background color mottled by large brown marks. It is in a hole. The anal hole of a sea cucumber, whose flesh you see surrounding the crab/hole in attractive orange

Dorippe frascone, a brown crab with algae on it, and legs splayed out. Except the back pair of legs, which you cannot see in this pic but they are hooked onto a sea urchin that it wears as a hat. Specifically a fire urchin (bright orange/pink with striped spines) that is more than 2x the size of the crab.

Side view of an attractive squat lobster, its elongate arms outstretched. It is vertically striped white and black to camouflage on its host, a crinoid. In the pic you can see a riot of striped crinoid arms and their pinnules.

I mean, yeah, although it does make cleaning it a little more difficult

You know...it could be worse. I mean, it's bad but it almost looks like it's just chocolate

Unfortunately it is funny

Several drawings of Shadowheart. One of her looking snooty and imperious, the other of her mad to the point of tears yelling at one of her companions to "stop fucking calling me shart it's not even FUNNY". Astarion does a rude spittake laugh and Lae'zel says "I have been dubbed 'BAE'zel. Acceptable" with an extremely smug expression
