If anything, this new decision now makes it *harder* for real libraries to leverage any power to bring down ebook prices. It makes it harder to negotiate contracts for elending with publishers. IA could've done this right, but they didn't and now we're all screwed.

One of the worst parts is that they didn't back down when it was clear what kind of supreme court there is. If it ends up with the SC at ALL, then fair use will get screwed up *globally*

Again, I love IA and use it nearly every day. I send my students there. I will be devastated if the site has to close. But this isn't David vs Goliath.
