Even if you believe the death penalty is a just and proper punishment (which it is not), if you look at *who* is condemned and the way everything is carried out, you cannot believe it is justly implemented.

"If you kill someone we'll kill you back" has never made sense to me.

I think death might be a cruel punishment, and I wish it was unusual.

We've known this for decades. Our entire penal system acts disproportionately towards POC.

I think some crimes deserve death, but I don't trust any government ever and anywhere to carry out capital punishment. There's such a track record in this country of manifestly innocent people being executed even after exonerating evidence emerged.
