Tina smith is openly talking about repealing the faircloth amendment? Why are we not talking about this more that would be absolutely major. If you don’t know the faircloth amendment has been around since the late 1990s and directly led to housing being held by hedge funds and push the price up. 1/n

I've been railing against Faircloth for years, hasn't repeal been part of a couple recent housing bills that went nowhere (I want to say GND for Public Housing and Omar's "Homes for All" included Faircloth repeal)?

It’s one of the direct reasons we have corporate landlords able to manipulate the market and artificially charge more for rent across the board and it has no other purpose them to help the wealth class. so for Tina Smith and AOC to be talking about this is a big deal. 2/
