I'm in Canada and there is a disinfo-spewing, anti-vax-pushing Libertarian rag that gets delivered to my door regularly. I would really love to know who is funding this thing when we can't even keep real local newspapers running. It does make me wonder about this neighbourhood I have moved into. 😐
I reported one of these locally in Santa Fe during the last election as they used a logo mimicking our official newspaper, and, they were delivered free to all mailboxes. Still, I think the Democrats should use this method to provide factual information to the populace.
Yet another reason for official standards & practices on what's allowed to call itself news. I'd think a proper industry standard would not only benefit the public, but also legitimate news outlets - & it could be a hook for some kind of public/private monetary support as well.
