Best thing you read in 2023?
There have been some really good ones but I would say “Between Two Moons” by Aisha Abdel Gawad. I knew it was going to be a five star book within the first few pages.
I'm still feeling stressed out (in the best way) by Emma Cline's The Guest !

I really loved Michal ‘MJ’ Jones’s Hood Vacations & Virgie Townsend’s Because We Were Christian Girls, both from Black Lawrence Press. And then there’s Tomorrow & Tomorrow & Tomorrow, which I thought was lovely too!
The Invisible Life of Euridice Guzmao, novel by Brazilian author Martha Batalha. I read it in Portuguese, but the English translation by Eric B. M. Becker is fantastic.
