It can sometimes make sense with live sports but mostly its a dated feature that doesnt make sense anymore bc most sporting events are already filmed at 60 frames per second (fps). It never makes sense for film/tv which is filmed at 24 fps so to 'boost' it to 60 w/artificial frames looks weird
