The selection of Simine feels much more than tolerance, curiosity, or willingness to experiment with the reforms. It feels like a full-throated -- we endorse, support, and want to be a leader in embracing continuous improvement in rigor, transparency, and reproducibility.

While thinking about this through the APS lens, thanks also to the groundbreaking work of Bobbie Spellman who turbocharged the scholarly discussion via PPS, and Dan Simons who somehow convinced enough people to launch AMPPS and then led it to being a key outlet for reform-related scholarship.
