💯 our city events are often hot, held on the hot asphalt of the roads with little shade, and the noise/heat/pollution of the food truck generators makes it so intolerable that I’ve mostly stopped going.
seriously. These studies are sometimes silly. Go buy some e-bikes. Use them. Is the infrastructure sufficient? How easy is it to charge? Learn by doing. Don't waste another year looking at this from 30,000 feet. Go do it, learn, and then do more, but better.
A new one?
Sounds about right. We don't need much heating here in SoCal (our Kona doesn't have heat pump heating), and I try not to drive too fast on the highways. Both help a bit.
yep. I'm charging right now in SoCal when panels on my roof and the rest of the grid are producing the large majority of power in CA.

Widespread power outages likely from hurricane and tropical storm-force winds
It feels to me like buying an electric Hummer. It's kind of in the right direction, but so wasteful that it's still problematic.
I *think* this wouldn't be the case at most Tesla Superchargers, because I believe they can support higher amps (but not completely sure).
that's the entire reason, honestly. But a pretty good one.
