I travelled all over Canada hiking various national parks and attending meditation and yoga retreats. I was (according to some friends) annoying in my dedication to health. Chronic illness still disabled me. The wellness community does NOT stick around when you get disabled /4
Healthy lifestyle is important to overall wellbeing - but it does NOT make you bulletproof. I firmly believe my lifestyle helped cushion the blow when my illnesses first hit - but it didn’t prevent it from happening. /5
You find out who true friends are when you are chronically sick or disabled.
Important to say, and very well said indeed. Sorry you have gone thru this and that "friends" didn't support you. Will quote this in a blog about UK and the cruelty being dished out to the disabled by the new government. Will post link on my account. Best wishes to you.
After an accident, 10 years ago, I became disabled. It’s certainly a way to find out who your true friends are and a measure of how some family can almost abandon you. I hear you, I feel your pain. Life goes on, just differently
That last line is so important.
