Out of interest, did you still have in person training then? I know I did for SATs. I genuinely think the switch to online training is one of the biggest problems in marking quality

Yes yes yes to all this. Unpaid, extra work of training, on top of the unpaid extra work of doing the mentoring is a recipe for disaster and totally unfair to people who are already stretched

And so Year 18 begins. We also had a giant flood into our English text cupboard this afternoon and had to rescue over £2.5k of new books as torrents poured on my head, but we’ll forget that bit.
