I think the volume causes people to acclimatize, and so what was at first a low-grade substitute for the real stuff becomes the standard because people are watching those videos every other day.

I think people aren't into James Somerton so much as they wish they could get a Lindsay Ellis video every week. Same deal with Illuminaughti who is basically a low rent imitation of other video makers with much slower upload schedules.
