In Brazil we call it "ressaca", which is the name for when the sea level rises and the waves are particularly rough (don't know the expression for that in English).

Another fun one here is to say you have "the taste of an umbrella's handle in your mouth", tho this is not used much nowadays.

I don’t think we have an equivalent metaphor in English for being hungover but “the surf’s up in my head” would be a good one, imo.
