You cannot say that you believe in your religion if you don't believe in it's teachings
"Muscular Jesus" is a heresy. These allegedly religious people who reject the actual teachings of Jesus have no actual faith, and have morphed Christianity into a large gang that imposes its will through force.
The decision by the evangelical church of churches in the late 70s to embrace conservatism as an in-group requirement is at last reaching its apotheosis. The religion itself is dead, its body inhibited not by the holy spirit but by the GOP.
There’s a possibility that Jesus, as he is portrayed, never actually existed, but is an amalgam of many stories and people.
