Nijad Huseynov was the 41st traffic fatality of the year. 2023 has already experienced the highest number of traffic fatalities in 16 years. /3

In the early morning hours of Oct. 17, Nijad Huseynov was hit by a driver while bicycling in DC. He died from his injuries four days later on Oct. 21. Nijad was a son, a friend, and a student, and he deserved the right to travel safely on DC streets. /2

Memorial bike installation. In the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, Nijad Huseynov was hit by a driver in DC while traveling by bicycle. He died of his injuries on Saturday October 21st. Join us Wednesday November 1st at 5:30 pm rain or shine at the intersection of Connecticut Ave NW & L St NW.
