Bluesky’s goal is to turn social media into a shared public commons. We don’t want to own people’s social graphs or communities. We want to be a tool that helps communities own and govern themselves.

Love the focus on community-centric tooling at the outset; so important to account for this ASAP!

A suggestion right off the bat. Immediately ban any other account claiming to be a dad in Wisconsin. They're spreading misinformation. Let us not repeat the sins of Twitter

These proposals contains some cool toys. Possible additions- blocking users on certain domains or “home’d” on a specific PDS/federated. None of these really address common harassment on Twitter, including things like out of context SS or posting around a block-these need network level moderation.

What's to prevent users on a different service within the federated protocol from organising harassment, hate, and threats against someone or a group on another service? Will services be able to cut one another off if their approach enables these behaviours? Will yours do this?

I like the proposals on hashtags. Opting in to them, spaces, etc. I really feel they add something to connecting with others. I also like the reply gating and the declared memberships proposals.

"Depictions of excessive violence, torture, dismemberment, or non-consensual sexual activity" Wait a minute, are you saying gore art is not allowed even if is flagged as sensitive content? I am very against censorship of art/creative works.

As a suggestion, could you allow text copying? Sometimes I screenshot, then I select and copy the text to paste as image Alt-text. But on Bluesky I can't select-copy my own skeets with iphone. I tappa-tappa and nothing happens 😭
