However, the shear and interaction with an upper-level trough & jet stream will cause Milton's wind field to expand, as the HAFS-B (and other models) show. While a weaker storm will lessen wind impacts, the increasing size of the storm will compensate to increase surge and flooding impacts. (4/)
Midday update: While it looked like Milton was degrading some earlier, it has been resilient and has regained a more symmetric appearance with increasing lightning around the eye. (5/)
