We were sad to hear of the passing of Tony Soper. Tony was an inspiring wildlife TV presenter, author & co-founder of the BBC's Natural History Unit. He received the BTO Dilys Breese Medal in 2009 for his work & inspired generations of nature lovers. His legacy will live on.
Sad to hear of the passing of Tony Soper. His Bird Table Book was a Christmas present in 1973 & gave me much inspiration to build nestboxes & persuade my parents to garden with wildlife in mind.
Oh 😞 that is such sad news. I used to love watching him on the TV before the Internet. A great loss - but a remarkable lasting legacy.
Watching the live "BBC Birdwatch" programmes were yearly highlights as a teen in the early 80's. Especially spotting the Lesser Crested Tern on the Farnes, before the BBC did ;-)
