Hey all - did you know it's almost been 2 years since we had a #MTBoS#iteachmath@burnsidemath.bsky.socialforms.gle/P4PHisWiJUyw...
1st mock in AP Calculus this week. Ss “previewed” test day before. Highlighted ?/words they were confused on first 10 mins indiv. 15 minutes of discussion w/out writing followed. High engagement & great discussions. Way to make the 1st mock less stressful & more useful.
Picked up a new class this wk for a T on maternity leave. Monday - non-engaged checked out students. Friday - full engagement and some coming to me to ask for lunch help to pass the state test. Tough group but the small victories so rewarding. Here we are learning exponential decay. #onegoodthing
Thankful for this last week of spring break. Feeling rested and my house is definitely less of a disaster zone. 😆 Almost daily naps and several books later I’m feeling ready to get this last quarter done!
Algebra 2 was awesome today with this Desmos activity on horizontal asymptotes. Ss were looking for patterns and discussions were on point! Desmos FTW! Special thanks to the author of this activity as well. teacher.desmos.com/activitybuil...

Teaching simplifying/multiplying/dividing rational expressions in algebra 2 is so eye-opening. 😔 All the misunderstandings of fractions appears and “tricks” rear its ugly head. They want to cross multiply or 🦋 all fractions. Going to show one @howiehua.bsky.social video per day next week.
So I went to a karaoke birthday party last night. Had iced tea to drink. Feel hungover. This is 46. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I ❤️ my 5th period Calculus class this year. Whenever we use the fundamental theorem in rate FRQs, they willingly break out in FTC! FTC! chants along with me. They are energetic, fun, & crack me up.
