How does a country grow up being taught that what they did so many years ago was basically the definition of evil, and then just go right back to it in 100ish years... like who is that dumb to ignore so much of what they've been told?

In the UK we spend all our school lives being taught how we fought against fascism, people don’t learn from history as evidenced by the countless genocides before and after the holocaust.
