Don't you know, it's an easy 3 step process: 1: do art 2: become famous comic artist 3: get remuneration to match Everyone can do it! After decades of honing craft and networking like mad to build enough of a profile to breath easy once or twice before the world changes again.

Almost by definition profits only count if they're for the people not doing any work. Otherwise they're expenses. 😩
Like most creative jobs, I assume it's super profitable for the top 1%, a decent living is made by the next 2%, and the other 97% are like "Holy shit I made $16.12 off that thing that took me 10 hours to create! A new record!"
