"...and open up conversations about mobility in general, which is what the British public want to see". Do they? I think the problem here is that the British Public voted to end mobility. And if they DO want to see more mobility, I suspect a lot of the British public mean one way mobilty.
I know a guy who ran a Manchester themed pub here in Barcelona and bemoans the days he'd invite UK bands he'd find on myspace/soundcloud etc, give them their big shot. Made him feel like he was rick rubin or whatever. He's really sad about it. Bit of a downer tbh dunno why I hang out with him
UK acts managed to tour in Europe pre joining the EEC and needed carnets until 1994 Lots of UK acts gig in Europe despite the issues of the UK ceasing to consider them "habitually resident" in the UK and them being triple taxed in the EEA No UK act should stay ex UK for stays exceeding 3 months
Those musicians impacted should start recording songs attacking Brexit Boy Starmer. They can whinge about how it impacts them; but until they challenge the system from their platform they don’t deserve sympathy for being affected like the rest of us.
The solution is to apply to join the EU, not try to negotiate special deals for special groups - the latter is not what people voted for

It’s very sad when you know people who are suffering because of this. A good act we hire every year at my club made a winter living in the UK and summer in Mallorca doing regular hotel gigs. They don’t tour any more because of Brexit. Bigger outfits aren’t quite as badly off. Brexit stinks. End of.
