Großbritannien hat die endgültige Ratifizierung eines erweiterten transpazifischen Handelsabkommens erreicht. Die britische Regierung sagt, ihre Zustimmung zum Beitritt zum Pakt werde Mitte Dezember in Kraft treten. Bei einem Ministertreffen im Juli letzten Jahres wurde Großbritannien als Mitglied des Umfassenden und Fortschrittlichen Abkommens für eine Transpazifische Partnerschaft (CPTPP) zugelassen. Die elf Unterzeichnerstaaten, darunter Japan, nahmen an dem Treffen teil.
