Bluesky now has seven times the active daily users it had on Wednesday. Even if 85% of these new users drift away, it’s now permanently twice as busy here.

I know of at least a few people who wouldn’t move back if Twitter was allowed in Brazil again (myself included). I’d rather chill out with the anglosphere that’s established here than deal with that horrid timeline again

This twitter ban in Brazil was the perfect opportunity for us, everyday users, to experience what a normal and healthy social network looks like, I'm definitely NOT coming back to that hellhole even if it comes back, which doesn't look like it's gonna happen anyways.

A lot of them are previously inactive users. They left the platform once, so they are more likely to do it again. On the other hand, a lot of Brazilians banned from Twitter are probably here to stay.
