i think the reason i bounce off so many modern video games is that i am simply not interested in doing tedious, repetitive tasks or replaying large stretches of the game because i made a minor error while jumping or something
Some of them are more work than a 40 hour job.
I've been replaying Hades which somehow manages to make that repetition fun? And I'm already planning out new strategies for my next run. Meanwhile I probably won't be loading up Animal Well again because I don't know what I'm supposed to do and I keep falling into weird stuff.
omfg. 100% this.
I def feel the big wanting to replay it. I don’t have time! There are too many other games! The tasks really depends. If I have to unclutter this room it’s “oh boy!” If I have to defeat another group of bandits its “Aw c’mon”
I tend to stay away from any game that involves jumping. Jumping leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to broken controllers.
I am a major fan of Syberia which is probably the most sophisticated point and click out there. In the second game there's a cocktail preparing quest and one needs to save before the cutscene. Otherwise you can never move on.
Many video games don't take having to adult info account. I swear, I need a recap every time I restart a session.
i got the kind of adhd that means I Must Teach the Video Game a Friggin Lesson but also sometimes i take breaks because my body is Old Now
This is why I bounced off Elden Ring. Going back to the same response point over and over again cause I didn't figure out which part of this demonic skeleton knight's armor is the weak one (again) is actually not my idea of having fun! It could be said I just suck at that game and... OK!!
