i guess it's easier to tell yourself that the world only hurts Bad people and nothing like this could ever happen to you bc you recycle or whatever as opposed to the truth (the world is random and cruel and all we have is each other)

it’s not any different than when bible thumpers claim some place got hit by a disaster because they were being punished by god because of the homosexuals or whatever

people who try and make sense of the world and insist that things happen for a reason are flirting with a schizophrenic thought process. actually bad things randomly happen to good people, the world does not make sense, stop trying to see patterns where there are none. this is how ppl go insane.

Someday, maybe soon, everyone will get a chance to win at climate roulette. Can't assign a moral value to it.

My take is that the World only hurts poor people because the rich have more ways to mitigate/escape the hurt. Evacuation is a good example, most non rich people simply cannot due to the cost.
