What people often miss about NY (and other big cities) is that communities spring up w the right ingredients (small space + purpose). A bodega with a lost child? Community. An enclosed metal tube and a broken bag of crabs? Community. An apartment building attacked by a big marshmallow? Community

It feels like (yet another) winnowing down of who ‘gets’ to succeed. These marketing depts don’t have the £ to nurture new talent in the ways of media so the bias will be for young, attractive, energetic. It’s passing promo onto the creator again AND raising the challenge bar.

The (British) sitcom Ghosts is the purest delight. Walks the funny/poignant line beautifully.
