Archaeology is often a mechanism of power. As such, its scholars have an obligation to speak up against oppression.
Jesus' Entry into Jerusalem is depicted on a side of this double-register sarcophagus now serving as an altar in a side chapel in the cathedral at Arles (France). Until the 18th c. it was located in the shrine of St Honorat in the Alyscamps cemetery where it was the high altar. #PalmSunday
