It's because for 75 years it's been "Israel are the Good Guys so if Israel is doing it then it must be necessary."
Israel have never been the good guys. You learn about the Six Day War in high school socials, and if you walk away from learning about that thinking Israel's violence is justified, you need help. Hamas aren't the good guys. Israel isn't the good guys. At this point no one is. They both need to stop
