Frans's greatest fears are: 1. The Undead because it causes a trauma response centered around his inability to save his mother even though he had no control over that. 2. Starving to death for obvious reasons.
Frans is fluent in Common, Undercommon, and Drowish (despite not caring for Drows, it comes in handy). He can speak some general Elfish but mostly sticks to languages that can benefit him in trading, stealing, and dealing, which usually takes place in the black market and backwater taverns.
