okay I read through my voters guide and I’m here to tell you, if you live in California, plz vote yes on prop 5 (public housing!), prop 6 (ending forced labor of incarcerated people!) and prop 33 (ACTUAL REAL RENT CONTROL)
The only acceptable argument against rent control is rent elimination.
Hell yeah I plan on it!
every time i turn on youtube, some old white dude tells me to vote no on 33, so i simply vote yes. they make it too easy
I was undecided about Prop 33 (mostly b/c it’s funded by the AHF guy) but all the slick negative ads produced by landlord associations convinced me to vote Yes. (Sometimes I get lazy about researching the nuances of housing policy and I let big $ campaign ads act as an anti-endorsement)
Bay Curious from KQED does a really good podcast on all the props.

Can I please get a shoutout for Prop 2 as well? I’m not doing national election voting discourse but please do vote in your state and local elections this stuff is wildly important and gets overlooked in all the other bickering
